OMG, I have the same notebook going except I call mine β€œThe Trump Dump.” So good to know I am not alone on this.

This is such an outstanding initiative! And in these horrible times, I think 'going analogue' in parallel to our digital existence might turn out to be very important. You're an inspiration!

Working on a similar thing every day too. I decided I wasn't going to try and record "everything" happening. Folks like Heather Cox Richardson are keeping fairly comprehensive records of "events" so I am just writing things that are catching my attention - from anecdotes, use of folklore, my reactions to news etc and trying not to beat myself up if I miss something big. My notebook is analog too, and though I have tried to transcribe it to a private digital record I simply can't keep up so am focusing on carrying my reporting book around with me and just jotting notes all day. Transcription can happen later, even if sometimes my scribbled-on-the-go notes are a little difficult to make out. I call mine "53 Days". And you're right - the exercise is helping process the chaos and helping me find some much-needed balance. Keep going!

PS I too am working on a "second brain"!
