I'm trying something a little different today: rather than giving a bunch of links and context, I'm going to give you the plain text straight from my Trump 2.0 Archive Journal (yes, even the handwritten archive names each source… a thorough nerd). I did some light editing, but otherwise, this is directly from the archive.

I share it today to ask those to read regularly.. do you find this version helpful too? Is it easier to read, or less valuable without the context? Do you like the quick punchy version, or the more explanatory kind?

It was a busy ass morning at work, so I'm just now checking the news! I'm feeling better today after getting that sadness off my chest. There's plenty to be pissed about, but the feeling that has been consistent throughout is the urge to help. I've been blessed and privileged with an education and some intelligence; if I can help some people understand what's going on a little better & maybe feel a little less alone... well, that sounds like a far more productive use of my time, that's for sure.

• BBC: Leaders set for key security meeting as world order at risk of crumbling

  • Goddamn, heck of a headline to start the day

  • A senior and highly experienced official (western) said this week “this is the most dangerous and contested time I have ever known in my career."

  • Our allies have no idea where we stand anymore

  • Frank Gardner, BBC: "Even if nothing ever comes of this idea (taking Greenland)... in some respects the damage has already been done. The message has gone out from the leader of the free world that it's Ok to threaten your neighbors and allies by force if you want their territory.”

• BBC: RFK JR. confirmed Secretary of Health & Human Services

  • Cool! Whatever! Maybe he can unfreeze communications please?!?

• NYT The Daily: How close are we to another pandemic?

  • Bird Flu is now at a level that warrants concern

  • Has been found in birds, cats, deer, bears, sea mammals, and raccoons... “we've not really seen a virus gain that many new host species in such a short amount of time”.

  • 68 human cases at this point

  • New mutation out of Nevada that made 2 people very sick

  • Trump WH is actively laying off the very people we'll need if this turns into a pandemic

  • Elsewhere in the world there is an acknowledgment that we'll probably see another pandemic in our life time, so laying these people off begs the question if we'll be ready.

  • Trump: "Prices could go up somewhat, short term.. but prices will also go down."

I'm home now: Work got hella busy. ANYWAY:

• Ground: Manhattan US Attorney Sassoon resigns after request to drop Eric Adams case

  • DAMN RIGHT look at that, some principle!

• Ground: Trump demands Reuters return $9m paid for 'social deception study

  • In reality, they contract with the DoD to develop automated defenses against social engineering attacks.

  • So, a blatant fucking lie, but at least it's obvious why Elon Musk wants to attack this one

• Ground: Judge blocks Trump's EO banning gender affirming care nationwide

  • The Hill quotes Rebecca Wald: a psychologist and mother of a transgender teen: "The science clearly tells us these kids know who they are, and that affirming care is critical to their mental health.”

• Ground: Judge lifts freeze on Trump's Buyout Plan, 20,000 accept so far

  • I hope my fears are wrong and they all get paid.

• Ground: Trump says he wants Russia back in in the G7

  • I saw this Frontline episode where they used some Russian saying.... that Putin was just “making rope” out of Trump, essentially meaning he plays him for a fool... what on Earth is his fascination with that man?!

But let's check the leading headlines on the right wing:

• Breitbart: Exclusive - SecDef Hegseth: Trump 'strength’ bringing Putin, Zelensky to table - POTUS a 'brass-tacks dealmaker'

• Fox News: Dem lawmaker who bashed Musk with vulgar term calls on party to bring actual weapons'

• OAN: Georgetown Univ. enrolled Hamas-affiliated daughter of terrorist as student

Alrighty! Well, at least we see why his base is happy now... they hear very little truth.
