I like your definition better, I just think it applies to Trump supporters now. Most of the people you've called deranged are actively being proven right, day by day.

I want out too. I have no means to leave the country - as a disabled person there are very few countries who would take me anyway. Seceeding gives me some glimmer of hope that I've all but lost.

I hate that there are so many Americans feeling this way; yes, all hope is not yet lost.. your worry is completely valid.

How about I take over North America and undo this mess? Wanna help?

We cannot leave our country. That isn’t a solution. That is giving in.

You would have the inland areas seceding from the coasts and joining the U.S. Not only would you deprive the U.S. of a large solid blue state but the part that breaks off from the rest of California would be a new state as red as Texas.

By the way if you want to talk about liberal secession movement, check out the Vermont Independence Movement and their book, “The Most Likely to Secede.”

"TDS has been employed primarily by his supporters to dismiss and discredit critiques by attributing them to emotional bias rather than substantive disagreement."

In other words, "we say TDS when we can't refute the substance." Fair enough.

The flaw in that logic is overattribution, of course, and it ultimately hurts Trump supporters, because they're assuming it's just TDS even as the substance continues to pile up.
